In the bedroom, headboards and nightstands are essential items that create an opportunity for highly personal design expression. Here are some examples we’ve worked on:
Carl D’Aquino: For clients who loved the idea of layering pattern, we created a backdrop of overscale cut velvet behind twin upholstered headboards.
Bruce Bierman: In a young man’s bedroom, the crisply tailored headboard and armchair are upholstered in a gorgeous blue mohair from Manuel Canovas.
Glenn Gissler: A Louise Bourgeois drawing hangs low over the side table for intimacy; an Alan Saret work is like a thought cloud above the headboard.
Tim Button: A good bedside lamp and bookshelves above the side table cater to an avid reader in this Central Park West bedroom.
Bruce Bierman: Goldleaf on the king size Moulure bed is reflected in the antiqued Venetian mirror nightstand, both from Lorin Marsh.
Susan Huckvale Arran: Boldly graphic shapes–a classically inspired lamp, angular headboard, and floral fabrics–contrast with the pastel color palette.
