Last November a spectacular fire destroyed two buildings in Fire Island Pines: The Pavilion dance club, a gay landmark famous for its high-tea parties, and the adjacent Danikki building, which housed seven Pines businesses, including the Sip n’ Twirl disco, Pines Pizza, the Pines Bistro, a clothing shop, and two real estate offices. We here at Bromley Caldari Architects designed the replacement Danikki building, which was completed in amazingly fast time, rising like a phoenix out of the ashes. Sip n’ Twirl officially reopened July 5, and the pizza parlor on the ground floor and the restaurant on level two will both reopen shortly.  Here are some images of the new building.

The Sip n’ Twirl disco reopened on July 5, eight months after the original building went up in flames.
