Congratulations to our own Carl D’Aquino and his architect partner Francine Monaco whose firm, D’Aquino Monaco, has won this year’s HUE Award for Residential Interiors–a prestigious accolade bestowed annually by Benjamin Moore for the masterful use of color. This year’s jury included: Paul Goldberger, architecture critic for The New Yorker; Tim Murray, former creative director, TARGET Creative Vision Group; Hans Neubert, executive creative director, frog; Linda O’Keeffe, design author and former creative director Metropolitan Home magazine; and Gary Panter, artist, graphic designer, and set designer for the original Pee-wee’s Playhouse. Carl and Francine will receive their well-deserved award at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 3, at the Hearst Tower, 300 West 57th Street. Here’s a mini-portfolio of the work that won them recognition as superb colorists.
