Without adequate storage, children’s rooms can quickly become chaotic messes. Here are a variety of storage solutions that we’ve come up with that will delight kid’s while helping them keep their spaces clutter free.
Glenn Gissler: This small room, once a home office with copious bookshelves, easily and gracefully converted to a charming child’s bedroom. Drawers were built in under the window and baskets were used on the open shelves for in and out-of-season clothes, while leaving room for lots of books and stuffed animals. The bed is a toddler bed–essentially a small bed frame that uses the crib mattress–an adorable transition for a small child before making the big step to a twin bed!
Susan Huckvale Arann: In this children’s playroom we used bright colors and modular blocks to create a fun and inviting space. Storage is hidden throughout with drawers and cubbies. No reason play has to be messy!
Carl D’Aquino: Designed to accommodate toys and other playtime paraphernalia in the front parlor of a New York townhouse, these storage tents were inspired by beach cabanas on the Lido in Venice.
The tenting is made of crewel with a contrast lining of striped fabric.
