This week I was delighted to be asked by the New York Times to choose eight daybeds for their “Shopping With . . .” column. The assignment was a lot of fun and I think I was able to find some great pieces.

October 12-13 marks the 11th Annual Open House New York Weekend, when we celebrate the city’s architecture and design by unlocking the Big Apple, allowing New Yorkers and tourists alike free access to hundreds of sites, talks, tours, performances, and family activities in neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs. I’m delighted that once again my West Village loft is included on the residential tour, which this year features 20 architects and designers who will be welcoming the public into their homes. The event is sponsored by Interior Design magazine, and you can read more about it here. To make a reservation, which sell out very quickly, click here.
I’m delighted to be participating next month in REAL LIFE, REAL DESIGN, a fundraising benefit for a great organization, Youth at Risk, which aims at transforming the lives of disadvantaged young people through a program of sustained mentoring. I’ll be co-hosting the evening event, along with such design world luminaries as Kim Myles from HGTV, Christopher Coleman, and many others listed here. We’ll each be donating exclusive pieces of our own design, which will be up for auction starting at 50 percent off retail price. Tickets include full access to the featured designers showrooms, shopping, champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and a night of fun and networking. Here are the details:
